New national trade association is born
After years of frustrated effort a broadly based group of established dealers assembled in Worplesdon to found a national trade association. The working title R.I.T.A. (Reclamation Industry Trade Association) was adopted, together with a Government approved constitution. Steve Tomlin (MASCo) was elected its first Chairman. Kate Jarrold (Robert Mills Ltd) its founder Honorary Secretary.
The following were elected to act as an Executive Committee to support the officers for the forthcoming year:

Launch date planned for March 2010
The issues and policy of the Trade Association were discussed in a three hour meeting and the Executive agreed to research the various items considered and receive reports and proposals to be adopted at their next meeting on January 14th at the Worplesdon Hotel 10am nr Guildford.
The Executive determined to give itself time before formally launching in March 2010.
Preference for reclaim
During the next two months, the new committee will establish the direction and policy of the Association, intending to give preferential emphasis to the trade dealing in reclaimed architectural materials and antiques.
Objectives & Membership
The Executive will issue a formal statement of their objectives after the January14th 2010 meeting, from which date membership will be open via application to the Secretary (Kate Jarrold).
